What are the Types of Dental Implants ?
There are mainly two types of dental implants, they are- Endosteal.
- Subperiosteal.
Endosteal – This type of implants are most commonly used now a days. It is also known as “in the bone” dental implants. This type of implants are surgically placed into the jawbone. On each implant there will be a prosthetic tooth.
Subperiosteal – This type of implants are also known as “on the bone” dental implants. These are placed on the top of the jaw. The prosthesis is hold by the metal framework which protrude through the gum. These are done for the patients with less bone height.
